Vice-President of ABACBS

ABACBS is Australia's national society and peak body for bioinformatics and computational biology, representing more than 1,000 researchers. As Vice-President, Feargal wrote the society's submissions to the 2025 NHMRC Strategy and the 2024 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap.

He also brought the national conference to Adelaide Oval in November 2025. It drew more than 500 attendees and $90,000 in sponsorship, with keynotes from Stanford and EMBL-EBI, and was opened by the Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC.
